Looks like we're okay - this is the letter I've received. But just in case, don't rescind your offers! love, Alan ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 19 Nov 2001 11:49:49 -0500 (EST) From: LISTSERV Admin <listserv@listserv.aol.com> To: cybermind-request@listserv.aol.com Subject: Important info regarding your CYBERMIND list! Dear List Owner, I apologize for the confusion over the recent letter. It was intended to notify everyone that the lists will be audited due to a very high number of dead lists and oversized archives. I have found many active lists that haven't been used in years, and they continue to take up everyones resources and disk space. I simply need to know who exists and who doesn't. My main purpose of the email was to receive bounces on lists so I may remove them. I am not going to shut down anyone's list or REQUIRE that anyone move over to groups@aol. I was simply suggesting a move because of the features and support, we are dedicated to providing the best product and support to every AOL user. Due to security reasons, we are not able to offer full support to "give back" listserv users, but groups@aol could. If everyone wants to remain on listserv.aol.com they can, but the archives will be trimmed down to one year unless I read otherwise in an email to listmgr@aol.net or postmaster@aol.net. The archives will not be trimmed until Jan. 2002. Thank you for your cooperation! --- LISTSERV Administrator Postmaster Team
