Subject: need help w/ Chinese scroll...
Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2006 16:37:22 -0500 (EST)
Hi - please look at http://www.asondheim.og/scroll1.jpg http://www.asondheim.og/scroll2.jpg http://www.asondheim.og/scroll4.jpg http://www.asondheim.og/scroll5.jpg I need help in identifying the emperor; the first two characters are the same as that of the 2nd Tang emperor. This is modern, a block print (or offset) which is hand-colored in. I looked online, but this particular image/iconography isn't elsewhere. The throne of course is the Dragon Throne (lower part). Any help and information greatly appreciated. The scroll is water stained, rice paper; the dowels, particularly the upper one, are extremely crude. Thanks ahead of time - - Alan
