Subject: Jazz Foundation benefit at 2 today at Bowery Poetry Club (i'm
playing in it)
Date: Sun, 8 Nov 2009 01:18:19 -0500 (EST)
As part of ESP-Disk's benefit for the Jazz Foundation, we're playing this afternoon around 2 for a half-hour set; the event goes into the night; other performers include Guiseppe Logan, Talibam, Sonny Simmons, Joe Morris, Paul Thornton (from the Godz, remember?), Randy Burns, etc. Benefit's $20, place is 308 Bowery, Manhattan. You get to stay from 2 to 9:30 I think. Should be excellent. I'm playing electric saz, ukulele, and electric oud with Azure singing and Myk Freedman on lap steel. My oud playing is weird, beware misery. But you get to hear good stuff swirling around and it's for a good cause.
