Back Then Newsfeed: History Fast-Forward

September 13, 2016

Apologies for the image quality; these are shots of a B&N Nook
that I hadn't used since last September; when I opened up the
browser, the old google news didn't update. What's fascinating
is the relative innocence of our lives just a few months ago;
even the Great Barrier Reef of Australia was given more than a
year or so to survive. The news is not only fast-forwarding in
consequences; the very brutality of the world, rightly or
wrongly, seems to be increasingly exponentially, and everyone,
left or right, seems to be entering states of emergency. We now
seem closer to the brink of nuclear and other war, than ever. If
there were a god, this would be a good time for her to manifest
herself - either to help us out, or remove humans as a deep
scourge on the environment.
